GTUG/GDG Philippines, with the Startup Weekend Manila organizers, conducted a Pre-Startup Weekend Bootcamp last April 14, 2012 at MINT College. Pre-Startup Weekend Bootcamps are part of the partnership between Startup Weekend and Google. These bootcamps are designed to help prepare the Startup Weekend attendees by giving them technical and non-technical talks.
To open the bootcamp, Jomar Tigcal, commmunity manager of GTUG/GDG Philippines and Vanessa Orendain of Google Business Groups Philippines introduced GDG and GBG, respectively.
The topics discussed in the morning were Startup Weekend Overview (Christian Besler), Elevator Pitch 101 (Jonathan Lansangan), Business Plan (Art Ilano) and HTML5 / Chrome Apps / Google App Engine (Alfred Gonzales and his PinoyTuner team). In the afternoon, Startup Weekend alumni Rafael Oca, Kit Yee, Riela Antonio shared their experience and gave some tips. Rico Sta. Cruz also discussed Turning Ideas into Buttons and Charo Nuguid talked about Android .
