Bacolod GTUG Weekend: January 2012

Join us on Saturday, January 14th, 2-5pm at Kuppa Coffee and Tea as we (formally) introduce GTUG to Bacolod! I say "formally" because we've had two Mapping Parties last year --- one to introduce MapMaker to Negros Occidental LGUs, and another at the University of St. La Salle for the benefit of the Philippine Red Cross.

Then, we will be dropping by Colegio San Agustin to chat with CS and CE majors about Mobile Applications Development.

What makes a killer app? We ask Chelle Gray and JM Ibanez, co-founders at CodeFlux, how mobile applications are built from the ground up.

Richard Grimaldo, Technology Chief at Vibal Publishing, will talk about how the company has evolved from publishing textbooks to developing interactive books for young kids.

After developing your applications, now what? How do you market and monetize? Michelle Santos, Developer Relations Manager at GlobeLabs will be joining us via Hangout to discuss monetization options, as well as a brief overview on how the organization can help out the developer community.

For those who'd like to join us at the meetup, you can fill out the form here. Big thanks to GlobeLabs for sponsoring the meetup and Colegio San Agustin for inviting us!

Two events in three days. Quite a load? Nah. Of course, we're reserving Sunday for an entire day of foodtripping. Want a preview? Check out this blog entry from DessertComesFirst.

Drooling now? Fly in and join us at the next meetup! We'd be more than happy to give you a tour of the city. Be prepared though, cause you'll definitely gain 3 pounds in 2 days. ;)
